Kris Pinot Grigio Review

Kris Pinot Grigio

Kris Pinot Grigio is imported by Kris Winery USA and is bottled by Kris S.R.L. in Italy.

The Kris Winery in Montagna, Italy is relatively new, having started in the 1990’s.

The wine itself is 100% Pinot Grigio (no blend) and said to be “handcrafted in Alto Adige using grapes sourced from Italy’s most exciting growing regions.”

Kris Pinot Grigio Wine Review

From the bottle:

Kris winemakers have combined modern technology and traditional winemaking artistry to handcraft an exquisite modern Italian expression of Pinot Grigio from the classic Delle Venezie region.

Bottle Label

I tasted the 2021 vintage of Kris Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie DOC.

Appearance

In the glass, this wine poured a pale straw color with a few green light reflections.

Aroma

A good sniff revealed pleasant notes of pear, lime citrus and orange blossom with little to no alcohol noted in the aroma.

Kris Pinot Grigio alcohol content 12.5% by volume, per the bottle.

Taste

I gave the wine a good sip and primarily noticed flavors of lemon lime citrus.

Complimenting the primary flavor were also hints of wet stone and a bit of honey orange sweetness.

Tasty, but very light in body. Even for a Pinot Grigio.

Mouthfeel

The wine had an interesting mouthfeel that kind of reminded me of Ginger Ale, but a bit lighter.

Finish

The wine’s finish was short to medium and it did wash out a bit due to its light body.

I caught a few tannins in the mix, as well.

Overall Opinion of Kris Pinot Grigio

Overall, I found the wine to be enjoyable, though missing a bit of depth of flavor.

With that said, it’s an easy light sipper that I believe most would enjoy. Especially those that prefer a very light-bodied white wine.

Kris Pinot Grigio price $11.99.

I bought this bottle at my local wine store.

Suggested Food Pairing

Kris Wines recommends pairing their Pinot Grigio with “salad, roast vegetables, risotto, lightly flavored pastas, omelettes, quiches and grilled white meats or salmon.”
