Lyeth Cabernet Sauvignon Review

Lyeth rhymes with teeth, but Lyeth Cabernet Sauvignon wine has no bite.

That’s the slogan from Lyeth Estate and they’re right, this wine is very smooth and doesn’t have a bite at all.

Lyeth Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting

Lyeth Cabernet SauvignonLyeth Cabernet Sauvignon pours a dark crimson color and has significant legs.

The nose was deep and somewhat earthy though not overpowering.  I’d say that’s typical of a good Cabernet Sauvignon.

Excellent taste.  Smooth, lightly complex and with layers of cherry, blueberry and cocoa as the tasting notes suggest.  I’d also say a little jammy as well.

Tannins were definitely noted and the flavor of the wine lingered on the palette for some time, with a slight pucker.

I’d call the mouthfeel of the Lyeth Cabernet Sauvignon soft like cotton with a very slightly dry finish.

Overall, I think this is a great sipping wine and would go great with a cheese of medium body.

I also kept thinking how wonderful this wine would go with Prime Rib.

Lyeth Estate is part of the Boisset Family Estates and was founded in Sonoma County by Chip Lyeth in 1981.

Price of Lyeth Cabernet Sauvignon about $13.99.  Recommend!
